Sound familiar?

You've watched forty videos.
You still can't mix.

If any of the next bit stings a little, good — it means you're in the right place. It's the same four things every single time.

Trapped in tutorial hell

You're trapped in tutorial hell. You've watched dozens of fragmented videos that flatly contradict each other, yet you still can't hold two tracks together for eight bars without a trainwreck.

The translation friction

The guy on screen is using a £6,000 setup. You're spinning on an entry-level controller. You waste all your energy translating buttons in your head instead of actually learning how to phrase a transition.

The guilt factor

That gear you saved up for is gathering dust in the corner. Every day it sits unplayed, that quiet voice gets louder, telling you that you're just someone who used to want to DJ.

Everyone else got handed a manual

Like there's a running order to all this that the rest of the world was given and you somehow missed. There is an order. Nobody ever bothered to write it down for you.

None of that is a talent problem. It's an order problem.

You've been handed the craft as a thousand loose pieces, out of sequence, mostly by people whose real job is selling you the next thing. Put those pieces in the right order and honestly — it isn't hard. Thirty years behind the decks and I've never met anyone who couldn't do this. Only people nobody taught properly. So that's what this is: the whole foundation, in order, start to finish. It costs nothing. There's no card, no signup and no pitch waiting at the end of it.

What are you learning on?

Tell me your kit. Here's the thing nobody selling a gear-specific course wants to say out loud: the craft is identical on every one of these. Beatmatching is beatmatching. The buttons just sit in different places — and that's the only part that ever needs translating.

Select your hardware below. The entire interface will instantly adapt to match your exact layout, killing the button-puzzle forever.

Straight answers about the free course.

Is it actually free, or is there a catch?

The 42-lesson course and all twelve interactive tools are free, full stop. No trial period, no card on file, no upsell wall halfway through. If you want the deep-dive gear manuals later, those are paid — but the course that teaches you to DJ isn't, and never will be.

Who's actually teaching me?

Me — John, a working DJ of 30 years. Not a marketing team, not a rotating cast of contributors. Every lesson is written from what I've actually done behind real decks, including the mistakes.

How long does it take?

The core course is built as a 12-week structure — one focused thing to practise a week, first power-on to your first real set. Go faster or slower, it's self-paced; there's no clock running.

What gear does it actually cover?

The universal craft (beatmatching, phrasing, harmonic mixing, gain-staging) works on anything. Gear-specific translation is covered for CDJ-3000/X, DJM-V10-LF, Technics 1210s, and the common Pioneer DDJ controllers — pick your kit on the selector above and the lessons speak your layout.

Do I need to sign up or give an email?

No. The lessons, the mix simulator, the Camelot wheel, the phrase trainer — all of it opens straight in your browser. Leaving an email anywhere on the site is opt-in only, and just gets you the free Harmonic Mixing Cheat Sheet — nothing is a gate.

I already know the basics — is this still for me?

Take the 30-second skill check above — if you can already beatmatch, it skips you straight past the beginner course into the harmonic mixing and phrasing material instead of making you sit through what you already know.

The problem

The manual in the box is useless.

It lists what buttons do. It never shows you how to actually use the thing — how the signal moves, how the pros mix, what to practise tonight. That's the gap we close.

01 · See it

Every unit, exploded

Anatomy plates and cutaway diagrams that label every control and trace the signal right through the machine.

02 · Do it

Hundreds of real moves

Groove, transition and FX cookbooks — each a distinct, usable setting with a diagram and the reason it works.

03 · Master it

Graded drills & a daily plan

Every skill with a goal and a pass-mark, plus a structured 12-week course. You always know what to practise next.

04 · Trust it

Grounded & honest

Every fact checked against the official manuals. Where the real content ran out, we stopped — no padding.

Free · plays in your browser

Play a real virtual sampler — right now.

16 pads, a step sequencer, live FX and sampling — modelled on the DJS-1000 workflow. Learn the moves free, save your beat as a link, and walk up to the real hardware already knowing it.

Who's teaching you

Not a marketing team. Just a bloke who does this.

That's me, a long time ago, with a fag on and a record in my hand. Thirty years behind the decks — progressive house, mostly. Long records, big breakdowns, the sort of thing that takes an hour to go anywhere.

I built this because my lad wanted to learn and everything out there wanted forty quid before it'd tell him what a beat was. So I did it myself, and I made it free.

There's no company here. No content team, no course funnel, nobody optimising a webinar. Just the stuff I wish somebody had put in the right order for me in that room.
